From Saturday 5th December through the Christmas holidays.

Trail starts from the new Forest of Falkland Gateway car park (just off the A912, the road between Falkland and Strathmiglo) and ends at the Stables. This is a free walking trail, no need to book. The trail keeps to the paths but they can be muddy. It will take you approximately 30 minutes (but remember you will need to walk back again!). The Stables cafe will be open serving toasties, snacks, hot & cold drinks from 10am to 4pm every day (except Christmas and New Year’s Day). We also have a little craft shop and gallery for you to enjoy. The Stables is just a short walk into Falkland where there are lots of other lovely shops to browse for Christmas presents!

This is a daylight trail only – it is not lit and not suitable for doing in the dark.

Help Santa work out what he’s forgotten to pack by finding clues with the help of the woodland squirrels. Each squirrel has a letter. Re-arrange the letter to find a word (or words). The squirrels are numbered (1 to 12) so if you find number 1 then number 3, that means you’ve missed number 2 and you’ll need to go back. Look out for the squirrels who are pointing you in the direction of the trail. Can you hear Santa or sleighbells on the way?

Once you work out what the answer is, write it down on the postcard provided at the start of the trail (santisers will be available) and when you get to the Stables you’ll find Santa’s postbox. Every Sunday, one postcard will be drawn for a prize! Remember to bring a pencil or pen with you (some will be available if you forget).

If you prefer, you can download the postcard and email your answer to Santa (info@centreforstewardship.org.uk).

Trail kindly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and Fife Council’s Culture Grant.
