2 November – 14 December 2019

Peter has been working in Falkland, responding to the built environment through his distinctive watercolour paintings since a visit in late 2015. In 2014 ‘Kirkcudbright, a book of paintings by Peter Jones’ had been published, part funded by Creative Scotland, and Falkland seemed to offer all of the historic beauty and variety and character for another book of paintings. ‘Falkland, a book of paintings’ will be the third in this series, following a Portobello book which came out in 2018. This exhibition will showcase the Falkland paintings which will feature in the book.

Peter will be offering advance sales of the Falkland book, as well as prints of some of the paintings, and greetings cards from the 1 November through a crowdfunder. The exhibition will conclude on the 8th December with the launch of the book.

The gallery will be open every day from 10am to 4pm and is free to visit.

If you want to know more about the paintings in the exhibition, Peter will be in the gallery for Meet the Maker talks on the 3rd November and 8th December. Peter will also be offering two drawing workshops on the 15thand 29th of November, 1-4pm at The Stables.
