Found! An exhibition of art and craft, drawing on inspiration found in Falkland’s landscape by Salted Moon creative arts group and invited local artists.
24th August to 22nd September 2019
We are delighted to welcome Salted Moon craft practitioners and artists to the new gallery space at the Stables. Salted Moon is a recently formed creative arts group based in Falkland, with members from across Fife. Their name is an anagram of East Lomond, the hill above the village; recent archaeological finds indicate this has been a significant place for skilled art and craft for thousands of years. Found! is our first exhibition. Inspiration for all the work was found on Falkland Estate.
The gallery will be open every day from 10am to 4pm and is free to visit. Some of the exhibition pieces will be for sale at the end of the viewing. Artists displaying their work include: Lise Bech, Steve Bretel, Margo Cuthbert, Tess Darwin, Philippa Johnston, Liz Keltie, Jan Hendry, Jannette MacDonald and Kirsty Lorenz.
Want to know more about the ideas and creativity behind the exhibition? Members of the Salted Moon will be in the gallery for Meet the Maker talks on the following days:
- Steve Bretel – Monday 26th August – afternoon
- Tess Darwin – Wednesday 28th August – afternoon
