Falkland Centre for Stewardship relies on the goodwill, expertise and generosity of volunteers to help support much of our work. Whether you are interested in conservation, events or archiving we can offer a range of opportunities.
Opportunities to work with other volunteers and the Falkland Centre for Stewardship team on a variety of woodlands stewardship tasks such as biodiversity work, pruning young hardwoods and rhododendron control. With all the recent storm damage we are particularly looking for help with clearing trees from pathways and making routes safe. Our volunteering group go out every Monday at 10am. If you are interested in helping then please Sam Docherty, Woodland Ranger on 01337 858838 or email sam@centreforstewardship.org.uk
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to help spread the word about the benefits of home composting, reducing food waste in the home and other ways to avoid increasing the landfill mountains. Your help is needed to pass on advice in your local area. This can be done in a number of ways - by assisting at events, providing information and support to friends, neighbours or other people in your community, informing small groups.
We provide training and support. You can give as much or as little time as you wish.
It's a great way of developing skills and knowledge and experience of working with people while at the same time you will be part of a national scheme to help divert waste from landfill.
The scheme is funded through the Zero Waste Scotland programme. Falkland Stewardship Trust manages the programme throughout Fife. For more information call Kirsty Martin on 01337 858838 or 07900350756 or email kirsty@centreforstewardship.org.uk.
